Helicopter Flightseeing &
Extended Glacier Trek Adventure
Extended Alaskan Glacier Trek! Four
Hours on the Glacier! Guide, Gear, and
light lunch provided! Adventurous
and Challenging yet No Experience Required! Juneau Icefield!
If you are looking for a unique
Alaskan adventure that will challenge and inspire
you, this extended glacier trek is it! Your professional
mountaineering guide will spend four hours with you, hiking
and climbing the remote areas of the glacier. You will see
and experience more pristine terrain than any other available
day tour. This is my favorite challenging trip.
Embark on your journey from
the heliport in a modern turbine helicopter. The helicopter
windows allow extraordinary visibility for viewing unrivaled
scenic terrain while soaring over the glaciers, horns and
ridges of Juneau’s 1500 square-mile Icefield. See
majestic mountain peaks, glacier icefalls, crevasses, moraines,
valleys, seracs, glacial lakes and more. The blue of the
glacial lakes is unsurpassed.
The
helicopter touches down and your glacier experience begins. Spend four hours on
the ice with a professional glacier guide teaching you basic
and intermediate mountaineering skills and the proper use
of your equipment, including ice axes. Your guide will lead
you on a hike that is both adventurous and challenging,
enabling you to safely climb and descend ice walls in the
most remote areas of the glacier. You will discover remarkable
glacier features as you get deeper into the glacier’s
magical landscape.
Bring your spirit of adventure! No experience required, but good physical condition,
stamina, and agility to walk over uneven surfaces intermittently
for 4 hours. Lunch is provided, with a view that will astound
you. You will be outfitted with top quality mountaineering
gear for your adventure. Outerwear, (jackets, shell pants,
and gloves) hard-shell mountaineering boots, harness with carabineer, ice axe and crampons will prepare you to safely
and comfortably hike into areas of the glaciers not normally
accessible.
