Ocean to Ice, Whales to Glaciers

WhalesJuneau, where the mountains meet the sea...

Explore the exciting challenges of Climbing in Southeast Alaska  Experience the best of Alaska by combining whale watching with glacier trekking! You will enjoy a 2-hour whale watch combined with a 6-hour glacier trek. The trip begins with a whale watch boat cruise - look for humpback whales, orca, sea lions, harbor seals, porpoise, bald eagles, lots of birds and sometimes black or brown bear from the beach! The boat tour operates in protected waters (inlets, channels, bays).

Glacier Trek After enjoying a few hours on the water, you break for lunch and get geared up for the glacier trek. The glacier trek portion entails a 2-mile trail hike out to the glacier, 2-3 hours trekking on the glacier, and a 2-mile hike back. You will hike through rainforest along the Mendenhall lake, and then on to the glacier. Explore unique ice formations - ice caves, pools, tunnels, seracs and crevasses!
