Admiralty Island’s Pack Creek is renowned as one of the most famous bear sanctuaries in
the world, and it easily accessed from Juneau. Explore
Pack Creek with an experienced, knowledgeable guide for
a rare opportunity to intimately observe wild, free living
Alaskan Brown Bears in their natural habitat. Many people
dream of visiting Pack Creek, though few are privileged
to actually experience it.
Your experienced floatplane pilot lands near the sanctuary where you will walk to one of the
prime viewing areas. He’ll also guide you through
the forest to the upper viewing platform to watch the bears
feeding on salmon below, depending on feeding patterns.
Permits, flight, guiding, binoculars, boots,
& rain wear provided. check available dates.
You should be in good health, be able to enter/exit
the floatplane independently, and walk along
uneven and slippery surfaces.
While tours are available May through September,
permits & tours are limited during peak
bear viewing season:
7/5-8/25.
