Photo Safari by Land and Sea
The
ultimate wilderness photography workshop. Tour Juneau with a naturalist photography
guide who will guide you to local "photo hot
spots", while sharing tips and techniques to
help enhance your images. Capture Juneau's
top sites and abundant marine wildlife on
the same excursion! Our itinerary is kept
flexible to allow for the seasonal
highlights and changing light and weather
conditions.
The
first part of the tour takes place on land,
with visits to prime destinations such as
the Mendenhall Glacier via GGC's media
shuttle. Next you will board a 32'
exploration vessel for an unforgettable
journey through the waterways of Juneau's
Channel Islands. In this boat one gets
close and personal with the environment.
It's sheltered from rain and large pontoons
provide a steady platform for photographing
marine wildlife and shoreline activity.
The star of the show can
be different every day: wildflowers, eagles
feeding at a salmon spawning stream, light
on a foggy channel, migratory birds,
humpback whales feeding, curious seal ions,
and even sleek killer whales are
possibilities. Your photo guide will help
you take full advantage of the conditions
and opportunities of the day. Learn about
Juneau's natural wonders and colorful
history as you strive to capture that
"decisive moment" in the medium worth a
thousand words.

limited to 14 participants to insure a

Regardless of skill level, our instructor
works individually with each participant to
ensure that everyone's photographic
abilities are improved. Our itinerary is
purposely kept flexible in order to allow
for those unexpected events that often
become the highlights of an Alaskan
vacation. Expect some walking to get the
best vantage and experience.
