The marriage license
application & rules are

In short, ...

There is
a 3 day waiting period
after the state receives
your completed
application.

A blood
test is unnecessary.

You can
fax or mail your
completed application,
along with a $40 fee to
the State up to 3 months
before your wedding day.
(advise at least one
month early, then call a
week ahead of arrival to
make sure it is ready and
they will be open
(weekdays, 8-5 excluding State holidays)
and for timely pick up.

You are
responsible for
personally picking up
the license timely
regardless of any ground
transportation arranged
or included in your
wedding package. If your
documented travel
itinerary shows that
you will only be in town
when their office is
closed, like on a
weekend or State
holiday, you must
contact the State
directly (907) 465-3391 for special
processing & notary via mail in ample time
before you arrive.
You may also apply for and pick up your license at any State
Vital Statistics office. You are the only one
that can arrange your
license and/or pick up.

On Your
Wedding Day: You must
bring your license with
you to the wedding. Two witnesses are required.

The
signed license is to be filed
with the State after the
wedding. For a certified
copy of your marriage certificate for your
records and legal proof
of marriage, order
a certified copy for
$20. It is easiest to
order this when apply
for your marriage license.

souvenir available from
the State on-line for
about $60 and is
suitable for framing.
